Out of the granite and into the green

This morning (hater)

Snow laden ground
East coast distance
two Queens women
gabbing on the corner
cars that do not stop
breath vaporous
cold hands
frozen ears
lame pants
cumbersome jacket
miss my West coast
never this cold

i feel for ya man. on saturday the 13th i drove out to point reyes in my little hotrod. sunny, not warm but not cold either. in a few spots along the coastline out there i parked the car to take some shots with my digital camera. while i was walking around being mr. photographer i thought about all those people in the midwest that are freezing. iced in by bad winter storms. i felt lucky not to live back there, to have mild weather like we do here AND to be wearing a short sleeved shirt rippin up the roads during january. not tryin to rub it in or anything. i just feel extra fortunate to be here in this part of the country. i'll throw some pics up from the trip at my devart page. check 'em out if ya want. link is on bill and dave. be cool man and keep on fighting the good fite.

good li'l' pome, I like how you captured the inner and outer both, united by a coldness. Amy's always gettin mad at how cold I like the house to be, I guess I like things cold, perhaps influenced by my Beast Coast upbringin'. whenever the weather gets to me, too hot or too cold, I just imagine the opposite (think of how nice a cool rain would be in the blazing summer, or a blazing hot sun on a cold day) and somehow the power of the mind helps a little. or, on hot summa days, I watch The Shining.

If you wore an actual warm hat, maybe it wouldn't be so cold! But I like your poem. It makes me sad. Every day you leave the house to face this.
